Kendrick Lamar ft. Jay-Z - Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe (Remix)

OK! I need to address this song, and Kendrick Lamar. He is bringing quality back to Hip Hop, this song is so hot...Summer banger for sure! and you can't go wrong with a Jay-Z cameo.

The lyrics this man writes...Crazy, to me I find it reminicent of Bone Thugz flow, but with a dare I say "Pac sense" of depth and reality to his lyrics? I think we can expect to see great things from Kendrick Lamar, he's already doing so well.

Rap Genius is genius! full lyric description!

Officially a Kendrick fan!!

Shellac & Nail Shaping

Shellac is becoming the new manicure go to! It lasts longer than regular polish, and thickens the natural nail.  It can get pricey to maintain at anywhere from $30-$60 per manicure depending on the salon.  Thankfully my friend graciously shared this with me and I thought I'd pass it on, it's available at Shoppers, Murale, Sephora, and beauty supply stores.  It will literally pay for itself, results are professional looking, granted you can work a regular nail polish brush!
My only concern as a regular Bio-gel user, is the damage to the natural nail beds. Its does tend to leave your nails on the thinner side, so I would suggest using a nail hardner, and giving your nails a break from the gels from time to time....I know it's tragic, and unfortunate looking until they repair but Witchcraft makes an excellent nail hardner that will help with growth as well!

Thanks to Natalie for sharing this photo! @whitepearlnh (IG)

Witchcraft nail hardner.

These are some great examples of popular nail shapes (above) I usually tend to go back and forth between almond, oval, and square-round! Although pictured below are the infamous "Snookie" duck nails, which I'm really hoping stops at the Jersey boarders. It's just not a flattering look! The hole idea of having our nails long is to elongate the fingers, more times than not. This style does the opposite.

EW!

Essie Nail Polish Spring Favourites!

Essie nail polish has quickly made it's way to my #1 spot when it comes to nail lacquer! The glossy finish and long wear, has moved this brand to the top, fast!  Dare I say? Better than OPI in my opinion.  I also think the selection of Essie's colour palates offer more variety of each colour.

Here are some of my Spring favourties!!

1. Mint Candy Apple

2. Fiji

3. Tart Deco

Essie's top coat "To Dry For" is also amazing, it dries your nails quickly and has a very glossy finish. You can also use OPI dry drops! They are literally magic! A little expensive, so you wouldn't use them all the time.

Breakfast @ Tiffany's anyone?

Some may think that the Tiffany's classic chain link charm bracelet is soo dead, and everyone has it, but I personally think it's classic and will always be in style.  I plan on keeping them in the family and passing them on to my daughter, if I'm fortunate to have one.  Tiffany & Co. Itself is a classic heirloom company, that prides itself on using sustainable materials, and non-conflict diamonds.  That including their timeless brand makes owning a few of these classics a little pricey! So what do I do?

The oh so chic bead bracelet that sold like a piece of Jesus toast on eBay! Love this, how can you not? it's so versatile, it can be worn to work and out! Plus in some lighting can almost look like pearls.
I always try to use the golden rule of pairing things down so if I wear these, I wear a pair of earrings from the dollar store....Yup! you can find decent earrings at the dollar store as pictured below!

I have problems with fake earrings like most, so a good trick I use is I coat the needle of the earrings with a clear top coat of nail polish and let it dry, without the backings on. Then I can wear them without my ears getting irritated.

Lastly my favourite! The Return to Tiffany's chain toggle necklace!  I personally don't care for the way it sits on my neck, it's a little choker-esque, so you can also wrap it around your wrist twice to make it a bracelet!

Another good thing about Tiffany's is their customer service, if anything happens to your jewelry, if it breaks some how, they will fix it usually for free. Especially if it's within the first year.  It comes back polished  and looking like new.

Contour & Colour Wheel

It seems that contouring is making it's way into more women's makeup routines! For good reason.
There are a blessed few that have this particular look without makeup, thanks to amazing genetics, and bone structure.  However it's always nice to enhance and compliment what we've been already blessed with.

Note that of course it's a good idea to take a trip to your local M.A.C., Sephora, Murale, etc, and have a professional makeup artist find the correct contour colour palate for your skin complexion.

Below is a facial diagram of where exactly you should be placing dark and highlight contour.  The idea is you want to bring the middle of the face to focus, and create the illusion of "sharper" facial features. The dark contour allows for those areas to appear smaller or recessed, again allowing the focus to be near the centre of the face...where all the action is!

You don't have to take it all the way to the collar bone, however if your wearing a strapless dress, it can't hurt!

The key to anything like this, where colour contouring is involved, or even eyeshadow application, is always BLENDING! it is a rule! no exceptions. Especially with contour, you literally want to blend the colours into each other, without compromising where you've deposited the colour.  There should be no obvious lines or breaks in the colour of the makeup, it should look like it's all you baby!

It's best to use a blending brush for best results, with light pressure. I even like to use an angled or flat foundation brush. The soft angled brushes allow for easy blending and helps keep the shades where they're suppose to be.

I also thought it would be helpful to add a colour wheel.  Often women ask me about my eyeshadow, and they always say one of two things, either they don't know how to put it on, or don't know what colours are safe for their eye colour and skin tone so with a colour wheel you can see precisely what colours go with what!

The key to reading a colour wheel is simple.  Where ever your eye colour is on the wheel, directly across from it is your complimentary eye colour!

These colours have less dimension than eye colours but it's the same idea.  Also brown eyes are paired with shades of black, although blacks and charcoals make brown eyes look lighter, brown eyes can almost wear any eyeshadow colour especially if you have a medium/medium-olive skin tone. Blues, purples, greens, yellows, and pinks will all look great on you!

These are some basic colour match combinations, however like I mentioned with brown eyes, or shades of brown the possibilities are endless, you can wear almost all of these shades, I would only suggest be careful with yellows, especially if you have a yellow undertone. I would suggest staying closer to the gold spectrum.

Acrylic Painting

A Painting I did of a pheonix rising from the ashes.

I did this for a friend who fell on hard times, when an unfortunate event happend.  I put much love and care into it, and I hope he feels loved and supported through this rough patch.
You will be on top once more.
